Grudge

She held on to the past
Like a crutch,
As if everything will hurt less
If she continued holding a grudge.

Repentance and redemption
Just seem ploys to her,
Staying unforgiving
She believes will make it all better.

But there’s one thing she forgets
It’s okay to let the ghosts lie.
To bury the hatred,
To bid goodbye.

To grab onto the memories
The ones where she smiled,
And walk away with the people
That had stayed behind.
